The following report, delayed due to the impact of the global pandemic, remains highly relevant. It summarizes the background and key findings of the January 21-22, 2020 Ottawa workshop and presents a draft Best Practices Guide: An Annotated Outline and Technical Road Map to guide CWR’s work on wetland valuation and evaluation.

This first Annual Report summarizes our 2019-2020 accomplishments, fiscal contributions and expenditures. It sets the stage for continued collaboration and investment in wetlands for the benefit of Canada and all Canadians.
An investment in the development of a national wetland inventory and monitoring program is both warranted and long overdue. This report outlines recommendations and next steps to make the program a reality.
